Newell . i . " Yellow Three, (Lt. Newell), and I went down on an Me 109. Yellow Three couldn't see him, however, so I got on the Jerry's tail on the deck. He was dodging trees to elude me but I managed to get on his tail and opened fire at 250/300 yds. There was a heavy concentration of strikes along the wings and tail and the e/a broke sharply. I fired again, with deflection this time, but could not observe any results. The Jerry then straightened out again and I got in some very good hits all over the a/c. The pilot jettisoned the hood and was just attempting to get out as his ship hit the ground and exploded. I claim o ne Me 109 Destroyed , sharing it with Lt. Newell . "","footer_block":"DARREL E .
