FW 190 h . FW 190 destroyed i . I was flying White 3 in Postgate Squadron. At 28,000 feet and to the left of the bombers I spotted 4 FW 190's flying abreast and at 11 o'clock to the bombers several thousand feet below. I called them in to White 1 (Col. Zemke) and he started down to attack. I followed and immediately noticed 4 more FW 190's flying Vickers "V" approximately 1,000 yards astern of the first four. I chopped my throttle and as White 1 and 2 (Col. Zemke and Lt. Janson) closed in on the first four, I came in behind the second four and opened fire at about 400 yards. They had already pulled slightly up and had opned fire on White 1 and 2. I continued firing and closed to 100 yards astern. I observed many strikes and as I broke right and up, the leader rolled over and burst into flames. Preceeding him down was another 190 of the first flight, also in flames which I believe was the one Col. Zemke attacked. I claim 1 FW 190 destroyed.
