PILOTS PERSONAL ENCOUNTER REPORT C ombat 9 August 194 4 3 8 3 rd F ighter Squadron 364 th F ighter Group 1 055, deck level Vicinity of Munich Hazy FW-190s 1 FW-190 dest royed , 2 FW-190s damaged

I. Narrative: I was leading Red Flight. Yellow and Blue Flights had just finished strafing a couple of airdromes west of Munich. They started home and White and Red Flights drove on to a field southwest of Munich. I was leading Red Flight and we bounced 15 to 20 FW-190s in the traffic pattern over this field. They broke up and combat followed. I chased six different e/a around the a/d. I managed to get shots at three of them and saw one do a double snap roll at low altitude. He spun into the ground and blew up. I claim one FW-190 destroyed and two FW-190s damaged.

GRANSKOG, Capt., Air Corps, S-2 Officer CONFIRMATION I was flying directly behind Major Ceuleers when a FW-190 turned on his tail. Major Ceuleers was firing at the time on another 190 in a slight turn to port. As the 190 turned in behind Major Ceuleers he also was turning in front of me and as I fired my first short burst he changed to a turn to starboard. I turned with him and after turning about 160 degrees firing all the way, he crashed right wing first. I then turned back to where I thought Major Ceuleers should be and saw a plane that was just crashing and also found Major Ceuleers just past there and joined back up with him. It was apparent to me that it was the Major's victory, as the other P-51s were approximately 2 miles from that area as far as I could tell. C.K.
