I. While flying as Red leader (Poetin Red section) I saw about six o/n attacking Forts from front port quarter. I took action and dove to 26,000 feet to cut them off. I turned to come back on the Forts from astern and to the starboard, I attacked the rear FW 190, opening fire at 300 yards and clos- ing to 150. I started firing at about 200' deflection from astern and saw hits on cockpit and fuselage thru the o/s suddenly straightened out and I closed him astern, seeing only hits. Those fires off and finally he burst into flames, heeled over and went straight down. The last soon, he has burning and still going down at 3000 feet.

We are looking for photos, documents and other types of artifacts including uniforms and gear of the 8th Air Force in World War II as well as other units and commands.
