I. FLYING WABASH YELLOW LEADER ON COURSE BEYOND ZUIDER ZEE, I TURNED LEFT TOWARD FORMATION OF B-24'S THAT WERE REQUESTING AID. AT 23,000 FEET NEAR LONINGEN I OBSERVED SEVERAL A/C VERY LOW. DIVING DOWN 7,000 FEET I RECOGNIZED A P-47 ON THE DECK AND DECIDED THE FORMATION FRIENDLY. IMMEDIATELY I SAW A ME-109 FOLLOWING BEHIND THE P-47 SO I PEELED OFF AND GOT ON HIS TAIL AT ABOUT 1200 FEET. OPENING FIRE FROM 150 YDS. DEAD ASTERN AND CLOSING TO 75 YDS, I FIRED ONE LONG BURST OBSERVING A GREAT FLASH OF FLAMES EMITTING FROM AROUND THE COCKPIT. AS I PASSED TO HIS LEFT I SAW FLAMES AND SMOKE COMING FROM HIS ENGINE. I OBSERVED THE E/A GO INTO A STEEP LEFT TURN AND DIVE INTO THE DECK IN FLAMES. I CLAIM THIS ME-109 DESTROYED.

We accept electronic/scans or originals of pictures and paper records. A General Order could be an award document that contains information on many servicemen. Special Orders may contain transfers or other information. Flight records, accident reports, maintenance logs, after action reports, pilot encounter reports, diaries and biorgraphies; all of these types of documents help us support or mission: preserving your history!
