I.     Narrative:

Flying Shirtblue Blue 1, I joined the first box of bombers at about 1445 hours. I had lost my section on a previous bounce which had turned out to be friendly a/c. There was several dogfights going on near but Mustangs seemed to have the upper hand. Twenty plus e/a came in from 11 o’clock high and I gave chase to one. I closed to about 300 yards, after diving from 21,000 feet to 2,000 feet and opened fire using short bursts. I got a few hits and what seemed to be his canopy flew off. I over ran and made two more passes getting hits both times. After the last pass which was at tree top level, I looked back and the e/a was a mass of flames scattered over a area of about 100 yards in a field. The e/a was equipped with wing shackles.

I later fired at two trains, missing one and getting a few strikes on the other.

               I claim 1 Me109 Destroyed.
