h. One Me 109 claimed Destroyed.

i. I was flying White Four and we were exhibiting around the bombers as they were coming out. In the vicinity of Zwelle we were bounced at 18,000' by four Me 109's from astern. The flight broke into them and, after some circle in a Lufberry, White Three went down after one of the e/a. I followed to cover him and, at 14,000', White Three saw me in his mirror and broke, hitching. I was a Luvery. I continued to follow the Me 109 and opened fire at long range, but ineffectively. I then closed and fired again, continuing to do so until I had closed to about 75 yds. By this time I was down to 1,500' and, during my attack I saw strikes all over the fuselage, tail and left wing of the e/a. I pulled over to the left side of him and, as I passed, I looked over but could not see the pilot. The ship started to roll to the right slowly and then went straight in, on his back and at about a 30° angle. He took no evasive action during any part of my attack. I claim one Me 109 Destroyed.
