I FOLLOWED WHITE 3 DOWN ON A ME-109 THAT HAD JUST SHOT DOWN A B-17. WHITE THREE SUCCEEDED IN GETTING ON THE E/A'S TAIL BUT BEFORE HE COULD OPEN FIRE THE PILOT BAILED OUT AND THE E/A WENT INTO A SPIN. AFTER TAKING PICTURES OF THE PILOT IN THE CHUTE WE WENT DOWN ON 2 BOGIES AT 20,000 FT, BUT FOUND THEM TO BE P-51'S. WHEN CLIMBING BACK UP WHITE 3 SPOTTED 2 E/A DIVING FOR THE DECK. DOWN WE WENT AFTER THEM AND CAUGHT UP WITH THEM AT 1000 FT WHERE THEY WENT INTO A LUFTBERRY. WHITE 3 GOT IN A LONG BURST ON THE NO 2 MAN AND THE E/A BURST INTO FLAMES AND CRASHED INTO THE DECK. THE OTHER E/A'S STARTED OUT ACROSS COUNTRY VERY LOW ON THE DECK WITH US IN HOT PURSUIT. HE TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE DODGE TO LOSE US BUT WHITE 3 GOT IN SOME SHORT BURSTS. JUST AS HE WAS READY TO FINISH HIM OFF HIS AMMUNITION RAN OUT AND HE CALLED ME TO COME UP AND FINISH HIM OFF. WITH EVERYTHING FORWARD I STARTED TO GAIN SLOWLY BUT DURING THIS PERIOD WHITE THREE MANEUVERED HIS A/C OVER THE E/A AND FORCED HIM TO CRASH INTO A RAILROAD EMBANKMENT. THE E/A BURNED WITH PIECES FLYING ALL OVER. AS WE STARTED TO CLIMB BACK UP I OBSERVED A ME-109 FLYING ON A PARALLEL COURSE AND A LITTLE IN FRONT. I SLIPPED IN BEHIND HIM AND OPENED FIRE AT 350 YDS CLOSING TO 75 YDS DEAD ASTERN. I OBSERVED HITS ON THE FUSELAGE AND SOME SMOKE POURING OUT. THE PILOT BAILED OUT JUST AFTER HE PULLED UP INTO THE CLOUD LAYER. JUST AT THIS MOMENT I SPOTTED A RED NOSED FW-190 FLYING 180 DEG TO MY LEFT. CALLING WHITE THREE TO FOLLOW ME, I WENT FOR HIM. THE E/A TURNED INTO ME AND I OPENED FIRE AT 300 YDS IN A HEAD ON PASS. THREE OF MY GUNS JAMMED SO I IMMEDIATELY BROKE DOWN. I CALLED WHITE THREE TO TAKE OVER UNTIL I COULD GET INTO POSITION TO FIRE AGAIN. CLIMBING BACK UP I FOUND THE E/A IN A LUFTBERRY WITH WHITE 3 ON HIS TAIL. AS I SLIPPED IN BETWEEN THE E/A AND WHITE 3, THE E/A REVERSED HIS TURN SHARPLY AND TOOK A FEW SHOTS AT WHITE 3 AS HE WAS PASSING BY. I WAS CLOSING RAPIDLY ON HIM WHEN HE REVERSED HIS TURN AGAIN. FOLLOWING HIM I CLOSED TO 15 YDS 0 DEG DEFLECTION AND OPENED UP WITH A SHORT BURST. HITS WERE OBSERVED ON THE WING AND CANOPY. THE E/A BURST INTO FLAMES, FLIPPED OVER AND CRASHED INTO THE DECK WHERE IT COMPLETELY DISENTREGRATED. WE THEN CLIMBED BACK UP AND SET COURSE FOR HOME. I CLAIM ONE ME-109 AND ONE FW-190 DESTROYED. J .
